Realistic mural in the center of Poltava

Recently in the center of Poltava there was a presentation of a new mural, and now from the wall of old three-storeyed building everybody may see a black and white picture of a smiling girl with the bouquet in her hands.

This wonderful mural was created by an artist Alexander Korban. Arthur Kobzar became this idea’s author. He is a businessman and one of “Poltavska platform” founder. All funds collected for creation such a wonderful masterpiece were gathered by many people. Everybody could donate from 20 to 500 UAH (Ukrainian hryvnas). In such a way the amount of 25 000 UAH was collected to implement this idea.

This money was spent on accommodation and needed materials. Taking into account that this kind of work costs approximately 3000 USD, Alexander Korban was working free of charge. Usually such kinds of murals are created in city districts with typical construction in order to variegate its grey colors and drabness. In this case the creators made a compromise: they were painting in the downtown but the picture was made in black and white colors not to distroy the historical part of the city center. They have chosen the house with winterize wall, received all necessary papers and documentation from city cervices and agreed this project also with people who live in this house.

Now everybody may come and take pictures near this mural located at 40A, Sobornosti str. The creators and sponsors were very satisfied with such a pilot project and are ready to collect money for the next one - mini sculpture creation.
