Folk dances in Poltava

The second year in a row Poltava City Hall of Culture was hosted an evening of choreography "Vizerunki of folk dances". And again the hall was crowded with people, gathered together those who are in love with national folk dances. The concert program included the most expressive performances of many city dance troupes.

As always, the dance group of Ukrainian folk choir "Kalyna" under the supervision of Grigory Levchenko performed brightly and unforgettably. This dance group, which is a prize winner of numerous all-Ukrainian and international festivals and competitions of folk art, has become a visiting card not only of Poltava city, but of the entire country.

Interesting performances were presented by “Barvy” members, headed by Dmitry Denisenko. This group was created at the Children's Music School No. 1 named after P.I. Maiboroda (Poltava) just two years ago. Despite of a short period of existence, this ensemble has got many diplomas of serious choreographic competitions, including the II All-Ukrainian festival-competition of choreographic art “Kharkiv best fest”.

The concert was attended by another young, but already beloved Poltava team - ensemble of folk dance "Vіzerunky" (headed by Valery Shulika, choreographer Elena Titarenko). Its participants realized themselves in various spheres of life, becoming successful businessmen, respected teachers and scientists. But they all are fond of folk dance and this love united all of them under the dance band “Vizerunky”. At a young age, each of them was engaged in choreography, and now they are happy to go on stage and demonstrate their skills. This dance group for two years of its existence managed to take part in international high-level festivals, such as "Spring Fairy Tale" (Budapest).

The evening program also included an amateur ensemble "Zernyata" (headed by O. Dronov), the instrumental ensemble "Zagrava" (directed by E. Nosenko), the ensemble of drums "Live drums" (directed by E. Dudnik and Danilo Rebeka).

The audience appreciated a high level of training and talent of artists, beautiful music, a variety of colorful costumes, original lighting effects, professional sound design. After each speech, a stormy ovation was heard. There were dances of various nationalities during the concert. With every new performance, the audience traveled through the countries of the world, discovering their traditions and history.

The spectators and the participants themselves were delighted with the creative evening. Therefore, the sponsors are planning to hold this event every year.
