Poltava airport became an international airport

Repair works were carried out at the airport "Poltava" from the beginning of 2018. During the construction work, its technical capabilities have been brought into demands with international standards, and now it is 100% ready to welcome foreign guests. On July 29, the renewed Poltava airport accepted the first flight with passengers on board. They were the tourists-aviators who flew to Poltava from Zaporozhye.

August 17, 2018 is the historic date for the Poltava airport. On this day, the new terminal received the first passengers who arrived from abroad. Thus, the airport "Poltava" got the status of international. The players of the football club "Mariupol" came back home from Europa League qualifying match by a charter flight from Frankfurt. The sportsmen were transported to Poltava by an airplane of the Swedish brand Saab, owned by the airline "Urga".

Representatives of the Poltava Regional State Administration say that the customs and border guard services are already operating at the airport. In the future, they plan to create a modern recreation area with duty free shops and catering establishments. The capacity of the new terminal is up to 400 passengers per 1 hour.
