In 1969 the memorial complex of Kotlyarevsky’s place was renovated. In accordance with UNESCO decision that year was proclaimed the year of Kotlyarevsky — in honor of the writer's birthday bicentenary. The place renewal was possible due to Taras Shevchenko’s sketch in watercolors. Kotlyarevsky’s place is a typical Ukrainian house of XVIII — XIX centuries. The building consists of 5 small rooms. Along the master's cabinet there is a balk under the ceiling with the Cyrillic inscription: “This house is created in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen. August, the 1-st, 1705”.
The house interior was reconstructed in all details according to the memories of the writer's contemporaries. In that house many memorial things can be found: poet’s awards, manuscripts, items of everyday noble life of XIX century.
The writer's grave of the year 1838 is located at the territory of the former city cemetery, which is near Kobelyatsky chumatsky way (today it is str. Frunze) in the park named after I. Kotlyarevsky. The writer's grave and his place at Soborny square are entered in the State list of Ukraine’s Landscapes.
