Address: 23, Pervomaysky ave.

The Temple, in honor of great martyrs Sts. Sophia and her Three Daughters, Faith, Hope, and Charity was raised in 2002 due to the city authorities and Poltava religious women community. The project’s author is the honored Ukrainian artist — Anatoly Chernoschokov. The new-raised church was sanctified by Phillip — the bishop of Poltava and Kremenchug.

In the middle of the temple, there is Jesus Christ’s Habitation that is divided on its all church’s height by the carved iconostasis; the iconostasis was made by artists of “Syaivo” company, in Lvov. Some of the church icons were brought from Pochayiv Lavra. Petr Gumenyuk, Viktor Trohimets-Milyutin and Vasily Korkyshko were the artists who created the biblical mural paintings.

The five-domed church, built in classicism style, is crowned by more than 5 meters high cross. There are 7 bells in five decorative domes of the church. All the bells were molded at “Poltava diesel locomotives repairing plant”. The largest bell is named “Poltava” and has the weight of 597,45 pounds.
